Megan Stanton provided an Excel file to the SSHAC SSC TI Team via Steve Thompson on 3/6/2014. This catalog is the updated UCERF3 catalog. PG&E updated the catalog with events in the ANSS from January 1, 2011 January 31, 2014 within 200 km of DCPP.

This Readme file documents the data in the Earthquake Catalog appendix text file Attachment_F-4.txt.

The file Attachment_F-4.txt provides an earthquake catalog for M>=5.5 for the period 18501932, M >= 4.0 for the period 19321984, and M >= 2.5 for the period of 1984-January, 2014.

The earthquakes are identified by an ID assigned in the source catalog. Events added by PG&E were assigned the ID in the ANSS catalog.

Attachment_F-4.txt contains 61,221 rows of data and one header row. There are 17 columns. The column descriptions listed below are included in Felzer (2013).
Column 1 is year
Column 2 is month (value of 99 if unknown)
Column 3 is day (value of 99 if unknown)
Column 4 is hour (value of 99 if unknown)
Column 5 is minute (value of 99 if unknown)
Column 6 is second (value of 99.99 if unknown)
Column 7 is latitude (decimal degrees)
Column 8 is longitude (decimal degrees; values are negative)
Column 9 is depth (km)
Column 10 is magnitude (type defined in column 11)
Column 11 is magnitude type given as an integer between 0 and 9(currently given as 0 for all pre-1932 magnitudes; refer to Table K1 in Felzer(2013) for an explanation of the magnitude type codes); events added by PG&E to the UCERF3 catalog were not assigned a magnitude type (field is left blank)
Column 12 is magnitude uncertainty (standard error; given as 0 if unknown); events added by PG&E to the UCERF3 catalog were not assigned a magnitude uncertainty (field is left blank)
Column 13 is magnitude rounding (for example, given as 0.1 if magnitudes are rounded to the nearest tenth); events added by PG&E to the UCERF3 catalog were not assigned a magnitude rounding (field is left blank)
Column 14 is the earthquake ID assigned in the source catalog (given as 99 or "0" if not assigned by the source catalog)
Column 15 is the aftershock classification; a one is written in this field if the event qualifies as an aftershock under the Gardner and Knopoff (1975) declustering algorithm; a zero is given otherwise
Column 16 is the foreshock classification; a one is written in this field if the event qualifies as a foreshock under the Gardner and Knopoff (1975) declustering algorithm; a zero is given otherwise
